This kitchen in a renovated airstream totally blew me away.  I have long had dreams of fixing up a little pop up trailer to take on camping trips (even made a moodboard below and was all set to buy one last summer) but those plans have taken a back seat, no pun intended.  This gorgeous space may be the inspiration i need to get back into gear...ok i'll stop.

My backyard needs some love, the file cabinet planters I made years ago have finally started to deteriorate, the fence has seen better days, and I'm going crazy looking out on a boring concrete slab.   A deck is soon to be in the works but until then I've been pining like a madwoman and making mood boards for my future outdoor dining area.  You can follow my Pinterest board here.

New year new bike!  I love my little Fuji feather, and have learned quite quickly that my seemingly flat ride home is all up hill...not so fun but you bike to get in shape so there's that.  Anywho I just cant take the sad eyes my tiny dog gives me when I leave so I've been looking into options for a bike basket.  So far these are my top three contenders.

Ugh! Help!  I cannot figure out what to do with my front yard.  It came with quite a large garden box built into the ground, a plum tree growing in said garden box, a baby apple tree (in the middle of the yard), lemon tree, baby avocado tree, and some sort of super sour kumquat tree among many, many, many other random plants all...over...the...yard.

Did I mention the yard is only about 19' x 28'?  Yeah its pretty overwhelming.

What I think I want is something much more simple, streamlined, and modern.  Maybe some pebbles and Mexican feather grass?  So far I have planted dwarf olives by the front fence for a little privacy.  Along the waist high wall we share with the neighbor I've planted some pride of madeira (large purple cone flowers above) in the hopes that they will grow super high super fast, and lavender along the front porch to match what is already there.  I think I've bought pretty much every Australian/non native plant from my local nursery and they are living in pots around the backyard or dead (I know shame on me)  and I just can't seem to get it right.

Is it terrible if I get rid of some of the random plants for a more cohesive landscape design?  Maybe I can find homes for them? I dunno, feeling defeated.

Hey all!  Spring is in  the air and I got a real itch to change things up, so I moved, hence the terribly neglected blog.  I've been trying to make our new house a home, which means painting every room white ha! and about a million other things.  More on that later.

Back to Spring...one of my favorite quarterlies, Wilder, gave me a little sneak peak at their latest issue and it really inspired me to get out of my house and go outside.  Oh and they're doing workshops now!

Hey guys!  My friend Nicole is involved in a competition to better LA and I think her group's idea is super pimp.  If you have time check out the link and vote!  Here are a few words from her...

GOOD Magazine is hosting LA2050, encouraging the city's designers and community activists to re-imagine the city for the year 2050. It's a competition y'all and the River LAnding Collective needs your VOTE! The project proposes to totally re envision the way we view the Los Angeles River, one small step at a time. It's an awesome project and has the potential to make serious change for the river and the city of Los Angeles. Imagine the river as a public amenity for all of LA!!! Like the mountains and the beach, the Los Angeles River has major potential to be experienced and explored like a natural river should! We have a RIVER running through our city! Let's celebrate it!! Here's the link to watch the project video and cast your vote

Hurry!!! Voting ends Wednesday at noon!!!!!
