Yet another awesome desk that won't fit in my house.  This one from West Elm...who woulda thunk?

I fell in love with the beautiful white bedroom of interior decorator Alice Cottrell featured in the May issue of Elle Decor, and thought I would share it with you.

Mmmm clean white kitchen inspiration!  The kitchen is coming along slowly.  I've been testing different ways to cover up my existing mustard yellow and sports team green tiled backsplash. Last weekend I painted plexiglass white on one side leaving the unpainted side to face outward.  I'm pretty impressed with the result, now I just need to figure out how to get a nice clean cut.

Justin and I attended the soft opening of the The Thristy Crow Friday night on a whim and I must say I'm very impressed.  This place used to be Stinker's, a truck stop themed bar, that was so douchy I've only been there twice even though it was walking distance from my casa.  Anywho The Thirsty Crow is a much better fit with better music, warm old timey saloon decor, and yummy drinks (their namesake drink is delicious!).

It's like they read my mind and did a lovely workspace roundup over at RUM.

I'm thinking of putting a desk in the bedroom.  I know I probably shouldn't but there's no desk space with the big ass computer and there really isn't enough natural light in the dining room (me and my need for sun).  Anywho here are some desk lamps that I'm currently in love with and would look great on any desk.

...maybe even this one.

I finally painted the bathroom wall uber dark gray and I'm so glad I did!  I have to admit that the process was really nerve racking and not because I rent the place.  This is the first time I have painted a wall so dark, I felt like I was doing something wrong (when I was younger I desperately wanted to paint my room a color other than white, when my dad finally agreed he picked the lightest shade of yellow, you had to look really hard and then maybe you could tell it was yellow).  Anyway besides the almost nervous break down I'm very happy with it.
p.s. I should probably mention that I was raised in an all white, modern minimalist home where we were not allowed to touch the walls.  It still drives me crazy to this day when someone leans on my walls. Cray cray I know, what can ya do?
Here's a before not bad just a bit too restoration hardware for me.

pss I'm thinking I might change out the sconce shades for the silver tipped light bulbs I have in the rest of the house.

What you lookin at? Oh my new banner? Yeah it's pretty awesome isn't it! My friend Jenn, a super talented graphic designer, made it for me and I couldn't be happier.  Check out her design work here.
Did I mention Jenn is also an amazing singer/songwriter?  Listen to her band Junebug here.
THANKS JENN!

Yes it's a bit late in the year to buy a calendar but I've been so busy lately I keep forgetting what day it is.  LHere are some pretty cool calendars from 5th Floor, a group of graphic design students from the University of Art and Design Helsinki.
