The light in the kitchen was so amazing this morning. It was so bright everything not in the sun went black. I couldn't resist a little exercise in light vs shadow.
I've been searching for something to hang above the desk now that the shelves are gone, so far I'm really into the idea of steer horns. If that doesn't work out I was thinking of stealing some art from my dad's gallery, I lent him my eames chairs so I guess it would be more like a trade...right?
Finally! I went to Ikea yesterday and bought a second media cabinet for the living room. I wanted to have a clean sleek look and still able to display records and books. The whole room feels more pulled together...and a little more grown up.

I saw this spread in the Barneys New York Spring catalogue and immediately thought of the day I met my man. I was helping Maria with a short film where lots of food including spaghetti was being thrown and he just happened to come along with our other friend Jenn to help out. I payed him no attention, then swore to myself that we would be friends, and here I am a year later deeply in love with the guy. Thanks Maria + Jenn.
Just days after I took pictures of the "office" are of my house the top shelf fell off the wall. Justin and I tried to put it back up but I, being a bit out of it, leaned on the shelf below and ripped that one off the wall too. I decided that the shelves just weren't meant to be and took them all down. Now the desk is where the credenza was and needs some decorating. It might be nice to add a desk lamp.
I'm really excited about Driftwood, a newly opened boutique down the street in Sunset Junction. I haven't actually gone in yet because, well, I'm scared I would spend all my money, and Justin's birthday is coming up soon so I have to be good.

I had a tea party/picnic with family and friends at my parents house in Venice. Apparently there was a strict buns only dress code.
Went to St. Vincent de Paul (the most gigantic thrift store in the universe) and found two fabulous high waisted pleated trousers for only 4 bucks each! Happy day.
