I fell hard for this bedroom.  Its clean and minimal but the warm leather on the butterfly chair and calming gray bedding give it a little something extra.  I've been slowly getting rid of things in my bedroom, the first to go was the pathetic excuse we had for an armoire which I replaced with two white bookshelves to go on either side of the window.  They look like built-ins and will completely disappear as soon as I get doors for them and paint them white!

  3. I have been checking out your blog daily for about two months now. What I like the most are the bedroom photos (especially how the beds are made), they are unfussy and I always get the feeling that the owners have been around and know a few things. If you know what I mean…

  9. The BKF or butterfly chair was designed by Argentinian architects Antonio Bonet, Juan Kurchan and Jorge Ferrari Hardoy in 1938. "BKF" are their initials.
Sad story they failed to patent their work and hardly made any money from what eventually turned to be a classic design, much copied around the world.

  12. I fell hard for the Eileen Fisher bedding in the Garnet Hill catalog last fall that was photographed so beautifully! I did the same thing...sold the armoire...and had my room painted Montgomery White (Benjamin Moore) which is a beautiful cream...and no more television...no hanging art...love it!
